This course is a medical treatment course in dealing with life-threatening traumatic injuries, specifically in potential high-threat situations. This course covers concepts in basic human anatomy to better understand potential complications, rapid triage and assessment of casualties, aggressive bleeding control, basic airway management, open chest injury management, and shock prevention. We will also cover basic methods for moving casualties, as well as essential items to include in your first aid kits. This class involves 1.5-2 hours of classroom instruction, following 1.5-2 hours of practical application. Materials will be provided for conducting training, so students are not required to bring first-aid kits. There is no better time to learn these critical life-saving skills, to potentially save you or those around you. We at Barrel and Hatchet are passionate about passing on knowledge, skills and training that are invaluable in today’s world. Please note- this is not a certification course of any type- however the training and knowledge you will gain, will increase chances of survival when dealing with major trauma.
The Guardian Casualty response Course, Alpha & Bravo were designed by Todd Angell. Todd is a former U.S. Navy Corpsman, with multiple deployments as a corpsman attached with the Marine Corps Infantry. Todd received a Silver Star for applying life-saving aid to Marines and coalition forces in combat operations. Todd currently works as an active firefighter/paramedic in a large Metro-based Fire Department, as well as a Paramedic Instructor for one of the largest paramedic programs in Florida.
