Course Materials Provided by Student

• Any semi automatic rifle/ carbine & Pistol
• Minimum of 450 rounds of Rifle appropriate ammunition
• 3-4 30 rd magazines
• Minimum of 400 rounds of Pistol appropriate ammunition
• 3-4 Pistol Magazines
• Battle Belt
• KYDEX WITH retention Shock Chord or retention strap or DUTY HOLSTER ******NO LEATHER, HYBRID or NYLON HOLSTERS to include BLACKHAWK SERPA****** (PLEASE EMAIL US for CLARIFICATION on any Holster questions you may have)
• Approved hearing protection
• Approved eye protection
• Two Point Sling (NO SINGLE POINT SLINGS!!!)
• Sighting System (IRON SIGHTS, LPVO, RED DOT, PRISM i.e. ACOG)
• Water
• Lunch/ Snacks
• Permanent Marker

********IMPORTANT NOTE: All Students must bring $40 Cash to cover the Range fees/ Any student that does not have cash the day of the class will be able to pay with their card via our card reader. Depending on the facility, students may also check in with the front office area and pay the range the fee directly

Please bring lunch and snacks, we do not have a lunch break in our courses, we allow the student to eat as we move along with instruction throughout the day. We do not want to waste your time. We want to ensure that all the time we have together is devoted towards your training!*****

IMPORTANT COURSE QUALIFICATION MESSAGE

The Contender Minuteman course is a much more advanced &  technical course that is EXTREMELY PHYSICALLY DEMANDING. In order to sign up for this course, students must have already taken Contender Pistol &/or Contender Rifle OR been a part of Open Gym.

Alternatively, students may email [email protected] to discuss equivalent courses they have taken to see if they qualify. Due to previous incidents , any prospective student who only has NRA curriculum as their basis of knowledge, does not qualify for this course. Any student who signs up for this course without the skill level to operate safely and competently at this course level WILL be asked to leave the course NO MATTER WHAT & WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

Course Description 

The Full Contender Minuteman course is designed to provide students the ability to combine all of their skills in a physical and team-based shooting challenge.  During this course, students will defeat certain obstacles, carry different implements, and engage dynamic targets in order to increase their confidence and capability with weapons handling and safety.  The course will have stages throughout the entire day,  that will be team-based and/or individually based.  Points of instruction will be given throughout the day during the course stages in order to provide students real time teaching points that are relevant for the skillsets being used. The goal of this course is to reinforce the shooter’s confidence in their abilities as well as to provide new insights into more efficient ways to shoot faster and to work with a team,  all while maintaining a high level of safety and proficiency. Ultimately, this course combines everything the student may have learned in other courses with additional layers of complexity, focusing on problem solving target solutions & working implements with other shooters.

ANY STUDENT THAT IS NOT ABLE TO MAKE CLASS AND WANTS TO TRANSFER TO A DIFFERENT CLASS ON ANOTHER DATE MUST EMAIL US AT LEAST 24 HOURS OUT. IF THERE IS A FAILURE TO NOTIFY US OF AN ABSENCE OR INABILITY TO MAKE THE CLASS, THAT SLOT IS NON TRANSFERRABLE!

YOUR CLASS CREDIT CANNOT BE USED FOR SPECIAL EVENTS(I.E.-RETREAT, SYMPOSIUMS, AND COLLABORATION COURSES WITH OUTSIDE INSTRUCTORS). YOUR YEARLY CREDIT CAN BE APPLIED TO BARREL&HATCHET CURRICULUM COURSES ONLY.
